HELPING TEENS
& YOUNG ADULTS FEEL SEEN, SAFE, AND UNDERSTOOD.
THERAPY IN WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA
The young people I work with are often the "good kids", thoughtful, high-achieving, and carrying way more than they let on.
Maybe your teen has been putting intense pressure on themselves, or maybe you're the one scrolling through this page at 2 AM because anxiety feels bigger than everything else right now.
EITHER WAY YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
This isn't about sitting in uncomfortable chairs and talking about your feelings (unless that's what works for you). It's real conversations, creative moments, and space to actually breathe. Whether someone is overwhelmed by college applications, struggling with body image, or just trying to keep it together while the world feels chaotic, this is a place where performing isn't required.
I'm not here to fix anyone. I'm here to help sort through it all and feel a little steadier in the middle of the mess.
Hi, I am Sally McClain, LMFT
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who's been doing this work for over a decade. I started in dual diagnosis treatment centers, spent years researching interventions for young people with chronic illness at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and now I get to do what I love most—walk alongside teens and young adults during some of their hardest moments.
My office doesn't look like what you'd expect. We might take my therapy dog for a walk while we talk. Or sit on the floor making vision boards. Or play a game while working through the hard stuff. Whatever helps someone feel more comfortable and open—that's what we'll do.
Because here's the thing: when you feel safe and seen, real change becomes possible.

How I support your teen
Therapy with me is not about “fixing” your teen.
It’s about creating a relationship where they feel respected, heard, and safe enough to explore what’s really going on.
Together, we:
Identify triggers and patterns that are keeping them stuck
Build real-world coping tools for anxiety, depression, and stress
Strengthen confidence and self-trust
Address perfectionism, self-criticism, and social pressure
Create space for honest conversations around chronic illness, identity, family dynamics, and independence
Every session is tailored to their unique needs—whether they’re quietly holding it all in or visibly overwhelmed by everything around them.
Individual Therapy
College prep that goes beyond academics. Learning to manage time, relationships, and independence when you're used to having everything figured out for you. Perfect for high achievers who need practical support alongside emotional growth.
Life Transition & Skills
For teens and young adults who need space to figure things out without judgment. We'll tackle the anxiety, depression, eating disorder behaviors, and perfectionism that feel overwhelming. This is about learning to trust yourself again and finding your voice in the middle of everyone else's expectations.
Parent Support
& Advocacy
Being the parent of a struggling teen or young adult can feel isolating and overwhelming. Whether you're navigating IEP meetings, trying to understand accommodation options, or just need someone who gets what it's like to love a kid who's having a hard time, I'm here for that too.
